TOO HOT

The Porsche 911 GT1 and the Mercedes CLK GTR are two hot icons of the 90s. Fortunately, the fire department of St. Moritz provides some cooling. This photo is part of the iconic and widely published "Lockdown Edition" image series for the classic car event The I.C.E. St. Moritz in 2021. Only a few days before, the band Daft Punk disbanded, which gave the necessary inspiration for the shot.

POOLSIDE IN ST. MORITZ

The I.C.E. St. Moritz is probably the coolest (and coldest) concours in the world. It celebrates elegance and automotive culture every year at the end of February on the frozen lake of St. Moritz in Switzerland, proving that there is a new dimension for a car show outside the familiar settings. When the ice has melted in summer, Lake St. Moritz becomes a huge outdoor pool and sailing boats take over the lake, but the five-star service of the renowned Badrutt's Palace Hotel continues to provide the necessary amenities. St. Moritz Summer Utopia!

KILOMÈTRE LANCÉ

St. Moritz has a rich automotive history. In 1929 and 1930, a kilometer race was held on the so-called Shell Street during the St. Moritz Automobile Week. In September 2021, the race celebrated a revival - on the runway of the Engadin Airport near St. Moritz. The expanse of the valley almost resembles the salt lake of Bonneville in the U.S. state of Utah. In any case, this timeless photo of a streamlined Abarth reflects all the magic of the moment.

SKATING WAITERS

If you were visiting St. Moritz in the twenties or thirties, you most probably would have seen them: the famous Skating Waiters of the Grand Hotels. For the event The I.C.E. St. Moritz in February 2023, the Grand Hotel Suvretta House has revived this tradition and at the same time conjured up an original Aston Martin DB5 James Bond edition on the ice.
